UkrainaTV Licenses Wavexpress
Sets Stage for U.S. Launch of Ukrainian Video Channel This Week
Markham, Ontario and New York, NY - December 15, 2003 - UkrainaTV, a leading
distributor of Ukrainian television, today announced that it has contracted Wavexpress
to deliver a subscription channel targeting an audience of approximately twenty
million Ukrainian nationals living outside of Ukraine. The new video service, "UkrainaTV
Premium," will be distributed to personal computers using Wavexpress' technology,
over customers' existing broadband cable, satellite and DSL connections. The
service is scheduled to go live on December 19, 2003. Financial terms were not
disclosed. Wavexpress, a leading provider of broadband technology and services, is
majority-owned by Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: WAVX), a leader in trusted computing.
UkrainaTV is the latest company to select Wavexpress' media distribution platform to
reach one of America's largest ethnic community audiences. Wavexpress gives content
owners the ability to reach a widespread audience without requiring the addition of
expensive hardware. UkrainaTV distributes world-class entertainment properties on the
Internet, as well as through more traditional outlets such as television and theaters.
UkrainaTV will use Wavexpress to offer news, short films, music videos, sports, special
events, and top radio programming, all from a secure cache on each customer's personal
computer. Access to programming will be available with a monthly UkrainaTV Premium
subscription of $7.77.
Customers of UkrainaTV Broadband will activate their service from UkrainaTV's
website: http://www.ukrainatv.com. Activation automatically installs Wavexpress'
WX Client™, which handles the storage, management and playback of UkrainaTV
programming. The WX Client delivers full-screen, DVD-quality programming. Customers
will enjoy personal video recorder (PVR)-like features and be able to replay the programs
an unlimited number of times at no extra cost. Also the TV service can "travel" with the
customer if the customer is using a laptop computer. Subscribers will receive approximately
five new programs per day. This exclusive content will not be available from other media
outlets such as cable and satellite.

offering subscribers major improvements in picture quality and reliability,"

first programmers to recognize streaming video will not satisfy the expectations
of their broadband subscribers in 2004."
